Kentucky's Doron Lamb has been chosen as the StatSheet SEC Player of the Week for the week ending February 13th. Kentucky's Anthony Davis has won StatSheet SEC Freshman of the Week. Lamb put up 2.5 rebounds per game, 17 points per game, and 60% shooting. The Kentucky sophomore played well for the Wildcats in victories versus 8th ranked Florida and Vanderbilt.
Lamb led all scoring for the Wildcats with 18 points on 75% shooting in a big 78-58 win over Florida. He followed that up with a team-leading 16 points on 46% shooting in a 69-63 victory against Vanderbilt.
Doron Lamb has been named StatSheet SEC Player of the Week one other time this season. The runner-up this week is Jeffery Taylor, a senior from Vanderbilt. Honorable mention goes to Gerald Robinson, a senior from Georgia. The highest ranking player from Ole Miss was Reginald Buckner who finished 12th.
StatSheet SEC Freshman of the Week: Kentucky's Anthony Davis
Anthony Davis averaged 37 minutes starting both games for Kentucky. His average in blocked shots (5.5 per game) was the best among all SEC freshmen. In the win over Florida, Davis contributed 16 points and 4 blocked shots. Following that in the win over Vanderbilt, he dialed up 15 points and 7 blocked shots.
Anthony Davis has won the StatSheet SEC Freshman of the Week an astounding 7 times. The runner-up is Kentavious Caldwell-Pope from Georgia. Honorable mention goes to Marquis Teague from Kentucky. Jelan Kendrick was the highest ranking freshman from Ole Miss and finished 9th. Ole Miss has yet to win StatSheet SEC Player of the Week.
