| Kentucky is the top team in the country and is the highest ranked of two SEC teams in this week's AP Top 25 poll, the other being Florida at #14. One SEC team dropped out of the poll this week. Mississippi State was ranked #20.
Kentucky stays put at #1 following a week that began with a win at home over then-8th ranked Florida, 78-58. After that came another win at Vanderbilt, 69-63.
Florida moves down six places after consecutive losses to Tennessee, 75-70 and 1st ranked Kentucky. Mississippi State drops out of the poll after a win against Ole Miss, 70-60 and a loss to Georgia, 70-68. Notre Dame breaks into the Top 25 at #23 with a win at West Virginia, 55-51 and a win at home over DePaul, 84-76. Wichita State comes in at #24 with wins against then-17th ranked Creighton, 89-68 and Northern Iowa, 82-57. Gonzaga shows up at #24 with wins against Loyola Marymount, 78-59 and then-16th ranked Saint Mary's, 73-59. Creighton falls out of the rankings this week with an upset loss at Evansville, 65-57 and an upset loss at home to Wichita State. Harvard drops out after a win against Pennsylvania, 56-50 and a loss to Princeton, 70-62.
